Samanadhikaranya

सामानाधिकरण्य sāmānādhikaraṇya

'Coordinate predication.' A rule of Sanskrit interpretation in which two different terms refer to one and the same locus through different aspects, as in 'the blue lotus.' Ramanuja uses it to read tat tvam asi: 'that' and 'thou' name the one Lord as world-cause and as inner Self, preserving both oneness and distinction.
