About Sanatana Rahasya

Sanatana Rahasya exists to present Sanatana Dharma as it actually is in its sources: the temples, the scriptures, the deities, the philosophy, the yoga, the tantra, and the lived practice. Not simplified into slogans, and not inflated into mystique. Traced to the texts, and written so a sincere reader can follow every word.

What this is

An independent, reader-first reference. It is not run by a lineage, a sect, or an institution, and it is not selling a path. That independence is the point. It lets the work say plainly where the tradition agrees, and name the places where it does not, without having to defend one camp.

How the content is made

Every substantive claim is anchored to a primary source, a classical text with its verse, or to named scholarship. Where the lineages converge, the writing speaks plainly. Where they diverge, it names the divergence and presents the major positions without privileging any. The documented historical record is kept distinct from what the tradition holds as story and doctrine, and where the record is silent, the writing says so rather than guessing.

The aim is a documentary historian's discipline carried in plain, readable English. Sanskrit and Tamil terms are explained the first time they appear, so no prior training is assumed. The full method — sourcing, verification, and corrections — is set out in the Editorial Standards.

Who it is for

For the curious newcomer who wants a trustworthy first footing, and equally for the serious reader who wants depth that holds up. The same piece opens with a direct answer for the reader in a hurry, and then goes as far as anyone wishes to follow. If you are new, here is where to begin.

What it is not

There is no guru to follow, nothing to join, and no enlightenment for sale. The core knowledge stays free and open. Reverence here is earned through rigor, not asserted through adjectives.

On sources and corrections

The contributors and the scholarship the work draws on are listed under Scholars, and sources are cited on the pieces themselves. This is careful work, but it is human work. If you find an error or a citation that needs strengthening, that correction is genuinely welcome. See Contact.
