Trace the Tradition Through Time

The History Path

Hinduism is old, but its history is not a single straight line. This path walks it in order: first the question of where the tradition comes from and how we actually know, then the long arc of its ages from the Vedic fire to the temple south, and finally the encounters, with Islam, with empire, with the modern world, that forced it to change and to defend itself. Dates are given as ranges, and contested points are named, not settled.

By the end you will be able to place the tradition's major eras and turning points in order, and tell history from tradition where the two diverge.
