anahata

At the navel, manipura , the "city of jewels," ten petals, element fire, seed Ram . At the heart, anahata , twelve petals, element air, seed Yam .

And the centre takes its name from a sound, where every gate below was named for an element or a place. Anahata .

From the base up: muladhara with four petals, svadhishthana with six, manipura with ten, anahata with twelve, vishuddha with sixteen, ajna with two, and crowning everything the thousand-petalled sahasrara .

There is a sound the tradition says can be heard at the far end of meditation, the anahata-nada , the "unstruck sound." Ordinary sound is made when two things strike, a string and a finger, air and a reed.

The fourteen-triangle outer ring maps to the anahata (the heart).

The breasts are described as full and golden, marked with sandal paste, the seat of the anahata chakra in the practitioner’s own subtle body.
