khyati
ख्याति khyāti'Apprehension'; a theory of what the mind grasps in error. The schools differ sharply (Nyaya's *anyatha-khyati*, Prabhakara's *akhyati*, Advaita's *anirvachaniya-khyati*), and each theory encodes a whole metaphysics.
