rasa
रस rasaLiterally 'taste' or 'essence'; the distilled emotional flavour a work of art evokes in classical Indian aesthetics. In devotional theology, notably Rupa Goswami's, rasa is the savour of loving relationship with God, devotion ripened into the relishing of the divine play (lila) from within, in one of the settled moods (bhavas).
