samavesha
समावेश samāveśaAbsorption, immersion, being entered into: the state in which the limited self is pervaded by Shiva, or by the power of Rudra. It is the Malinivijayottara's own category, and that tantra classifies it in three kinds, each distinguished by the instrument through which it arises. Abhinavagupta read those three as the three upayas, which is how a vocabulary of states became a vocabulary of means.
