शक्तिपात saktipataThe 'descent of power' - the transmission of awakened spiritual energy from a guru to a disciple, held to rouse the disciple's dormant kundalini. Given by touch, word, glance or will, it is understood in Kashmir Shaivism as anugraha (grace) and graded by intensity into nine degrees.
